SUBMIT ART

Submission opens: February 8 – March 7, 2017

How do YOU interpret ART IN MOTION?

ELIGIBILITY: All mediums accepted. All work must be original to the artist.  Giclee’s are welcomed but must be clearly marked as such.  Any work previously exhibited at GTG is ineligible for future exhibits.

SPECIFICATIONS:   All two-dimensional work must be wired and ready to hang. Works must be securely and suitably framed with screw eyes and wires firmly attached to the frame. Wrapped canvases are accepted with edges neatly finished. Works on paper should be matted and have a protective glass covering.  No clip frames. Sculpture is to be accompanied by a white base. Work will be eliminated if poorly prepared or if framing is substandard. All artwork must be labeled with name, contact information.

JURY: All entries will be juried from your submitted digital images by the co-founders of The Golden Thread Gallery, Kate H. Wilson and Tricia H. Wenz.  We carefully consider the following 3 factors when judging:

  • Originality and technical excellence
  • Connection to the theme
  • Perspective on the theme

A list of accepted artists will be posted on our web site MARCH 10 at 5:00pm (www.goldenthreadgallery.org)

FEES: Up to 3 pieces of work may be submitted for each exhibit; members of The Golden Thread Gallery are free of charge, $15 entry fee per piece for non-members.

DELIVERY OF ACCEPTED PIECES: *Please take special note of the fact that there is a very quick turn around time from acceptance date to art delivery date. Please make sure your work is ready to be exhibited before submitting it. Art that has been accepted for the ART IN MOTION exhibit should be dropped off at the gallery on Tuesday, March 21 from 12:00-2pm or 6:00-7pm. If your work is not received on time we cannot guarantee it will be included in the exhibit. Work must remain in the gallery until the end of the exhibit.

SALES: A 40% commission is taken on all sales.  (The Golden Thread Gallery receives 25% and Holy Family Retreat Center receives 15%).  All works shown at The Golden Thread Gallery should be for sale, unless other wise stated.

Due to storage limitations, we will only accept digital files submissions.

LIABILITY: The Golden Thread Gallery, a public art venue within the Holy Family Retreat Center, will take every possible care for the safety of your artwork. However, The Golden Thread Gallery and Holy Family Retreat Center are not responsible for any artwork that is lost, stolen, or damaged during the storage, or exhibiting of the artwork.

Shipment and Delivery: Shipping artwork to and from the exhibit is the responsibility of the artist. Artist may use his/her own shipping company preference, and is responsible for scheduling delivery and pick- up of artwork. Shipping cartons must be reusable and within shipping guidelines. Please use professional grade boxes. Late or damaged work will not be exhibited. Packing peanuts strongly discouraged.

Art Submission Requirements: jPEG or TIFF (300-400 dpi). Please title your image file: Your First & last name, title of your work

**Accepted artwork that does not match the digital images submitted may be disqualified.

Fees:

  • Members: Free
  • Military: Free
  • $15 per submission, 3 max per exhibit
  • $50 basic membership allows you to enter 3 pieces free per exhibit
